A company called the hive has started to create a unique series of rugs that are based upon the topology of cities. The rug is made out of layers of wool felt that are stacked on top of each other to allow the resolution of a topological map.

I think this is quite cool. However, I would trip if I ever tired to use this as a rug. In my view it is really something more like a soft 3D painting.
